When we talk about the greatest QBs of all time, it invariably comes down to the number of Super bowl victories, yet when we discuss the best QBs of this era, it's always Brady, Peyton, Brees and Rodgers, despite the fact that Eli and Roethlisberger have won more than all but Brady. Why?

Name a quarterback in NFL history that has 4 Super Bowl rings that is MOCKED for not having 6. Only Brady. The amount of things people have demanded Brady to accomplish to prove his greatness has never been used on any player in history. But just to go through it.

  1. He's a game-manager. Let's see him put up some stats.

Completely ignores that he led the league in touchdown passes in 2002 and threw 600 passes. Then he DID put up stats in 2004 and 2005, and then 2007 to now.

  1. Let's see him win without a dominant defense.

If 2007 wasn't acceptable, 2011 sure as hell should have been.

  1. He only put up great numbers with Randy Moss. Let's see him do it without Moss.

Proceeds to win the first unanimous MVP in league history in 2010, leading the league in every meaningful passing stat despite the Patriots being DEAD LAST in offensive possessions. Patriots score over 500 points 3 straight seasons (2010-2012), the 2nd team in history to do that (1999-2001 Rams).

  1. Let's see him carry a team to the playoffs

If 2005 wasn't good enough, 2010, 2011, 2012 definitely were.

  1. Let's see him win a Super Bowl after Spygate

CHECKED THAT ONE OFF YOU SPYGATE SPOUTING DOUCHENOZZLES

Now what else is there? Oh, don't you worry. The bar has been made even further away. Didn't you hear, Brady now has to:

  1. Appear in the Super Bowl with 2 different teams (because Peyton did it)

  2. Win ANOTHER Super Bowl because 4 Super Bowl wins and 2 Super Bowl losses is somehow WORSE than only 4 Super Bowl wins and never making it again.

  3. Needs to go back in time and play against a healthy LOB, because what Brady did wasn't fair to lord Pey Pey.

  4. Needs to show success without Belichick, even though Belichick has proven nothing in the head coaching department without Brady.

There is literally no comparison to the standard Brady is held to and any other quarterback in league history. Every time Brady proves he can do something just like anyone else, another barrier gets put up in an attempt to discredit him. I'm sure next in line is he needs to have a Michael Vick rushing season or needs to play defense like the old guard did.
