I stole alcohol from the same store every other day for two years without getting caught

I did this too in the throes of my addiction. I will say, that during the end of my addiction/recovery- the one thing that made me cringe the most was that the thought that EVERYBODY probably knew. The only one who thinks nobody knows is the intoxicated one. I also realized after sobering up (since my store of choice was Target) that it wasn’t that I getting away with stealing.. it was that they were watching me steal and keeping tabs on how much I was stealing so that when they prosecuted me it wouldn’t be over one bottle of wine, it would be over 100. Or whatever. You catch my drift. I’m so glad we don’t have to live like this anymore, though! Good for you OP
