So you’re asking how they can milk their consumers harder?

Here’s the issue that I’m seeing with YouTube and why it’s so infuriating to me.

So pretty much every time I click on a video now I get 2 ads, the first unskipable about 80% of the time and then the second one skipable or 6 seconds long. That’s been my experience for about the past year or two. And I really wouldn’t mind two ads every once in a while but the thing that bothers me is that I very frequently get ads for google products. So in a sense this answers your question. They are filling their own ad space with google products such as the google pixel, YouTube music, and YouTube premium. Their new business model seems to be “we are going to shove our product down users throats until they give into buying our premium version of the platform and also promote our other products and the products people pay us to promote.”

And this wouldn’t bother me much either if YouTube was its own entity but google doesn’t have to pay for ads on its own platform so they are basically just wasting everyone’s time trying to sell you product while they are actively making money off of you using their product where they are paid to show you other peoples ads as well.
