Who are you arguing against? No one is saying the overall benefits of vaccines worldwide aren't worth the drawbacks. Why did you quote "common man"? I didn't say that, are you using it ironically? Do you have a vaccine diatribe you want to get out of your system? I encourage you to post about it if you do, but you're treading water here at best. I understand one can take a long view of the disease now, but the whole point was that vaccine reticence was increased by people on the ground seeing their children infected with smallpox after they received a vaccine. The impact of that in the moment caused a fearful reaction in parents and community members, and statistics would have been of little comfort to people watching their children suffer.
