A pro writer told me my writing is crap more or less.

Never gonna happen for me.

Not clear to me if this is what you were told or if you drew this conclusion yourself, but this is an impossible takeaway.

No snapshot of someone’s writing is enough to determine they could “never” be a good writer.

It’s quite possible your writing isn’t pro quality right now, but if you keep working at it and take to heart some of the concrete feedback you receive and incorporate it, you will improve.

Whether it’s you or your reviewer who thinks you can’t succeed at writing down the line, it’s bogus. The only way that statement can have any weight is if you take the path of self-fulfilling prophecy.
