this is one thing that hurts me to think about... the struggles of any American (with very few exceptions) would ideally be a point of pain for all fellow Americans, especially those who label themselves as patriots. Knowing that people in your homeland are subject to any sort of injustice should be enough to make you at least empathetic. But when its your own police? Those who are entrusted and compensated to carry out the laws of the land, consistently acting with complete negligence and killing innocent people because of it?
The same people who would go on a tangent about keeping guns to fight back against an oppressive regime would be the first to play contrarian to this whole issue. Thats what i don’t understand, I suppose. A disregard for the justice of fellow Americans, because what? It pokes you emotionally to admit a white institution would act in such a way?
