I've told this here before. This friend of mine invited me and my wife over to dinner with him and his girlfriend. My wife "got sick" (she must have subconsciously known something) but I went anyway.
When I get there, there's no evidence of dinner, not even food in the fridge, and the two of them are shrooming. Whatever, I rolled with it and ate a bit too even though I hadn't done that sort of thing in ages.
At some point his girlfriend decided she wanted cigarettes so we walked maybe a half mile to the 7-11. But when she goes to buy them the clerk asks for ID and she had left her ID at the apartment. So my friend and I told his girlfriend to leave and we'd buy them but she starts getting all belligerent with the clerk, yelling, using expletives, until finally my friend practically has to physically drag her out of the store. I was certain the clerk was going to call the cops.
It turns out that this was not the first time this had happened, as the clerk said, "I already told you before that you need ID to buy cigarettes."
On the way back she's all pissed at my friend for "not standing up for her" and they get into a big fight. And during the argument he says, "we have a pound of mushrooms in the apartment right now, do you really think it's a good idea to get yourself arrested and have the apartment searched?"
I think they should be legal but I don't want to get arrested for a felony and I'm thinking, "oh god what have I gotten myself into?" but it gets worse. She runs off, and when we get back to the apartment she's locked us out. I'm coming down but I'm not 100% able to drive (plus my jacket was inside) so I'm sitting there while she and my friend have an argument through the front door. Everyone in the neighborhood can hear, and I'm sure the cops are going to show up at any minute.
So I go and sit in my car, watching him beg her to let him in for like an hour. Finally he goes in, brings out my jacket, and I'm finally ok to drive.
A few days later he called me wondering why I hadn't been in touch. This was the 3rd time he had flaked out on me, and by far the worst case, so I stopped returning his calls.
