[F 20] Am I as ugly as everyone says?

You look really great in these! I'd say you are average in the selfie pictures, and pretty in the ones your friend took. Definitely not ugly.

I love your hair long, and I see from the other pictures that you have really pretty eyes. I would grow out your hair a bit even if you don't want to style it. I hate styling my hair, but I have long hair that I pretty much just put in a bun when wet and have curls when I take it down. Easy and no fuss, but still looks cute. I wouldn't do anything that requires a lot of maintenance (things like bangs and heavy layers) since they tend to take a lot more work.

I'd also suggest checking out /r/SkincareAddiction. Having a good skincare routine is so helpful, and a lot of accepted wisdom about skincare and getting rid of acne doesn't work and can actually make your skin worse. If you have breakouts a lot, it might be because of something in your routine, like using cleansers with a too high pH that can dry out your skin and cause sort of a boomerang effect of increasing oil production.

As far as makeup goes, I'd go on YouTube and check out some makeup blogs. (Lisa Eldridge, Wayne Goss and makeup geek are three of my favorite beauty you tubers but there are so many!) Find some makeup artists who have a style you like and check out their tutorials, and look for girl with similar coloring. See what colors they use to get an idea of colors you like that are flattering on you. It's super easy to improve on makeup, it just takes practice and the right tools. If I was figuring out my makeup look, I'd buy a decent set of brushes (maybe real techniques... They have great starter kits that aren't expensive. Decent brushes make all the difference in the world!) and some relatively inexpensive makeup. If you're in the US, elf, nyx and coastal scents are three brands that you can get a lot of decent product pretty cheaply just to try. Watch YouTube tutorials and follow along, and just practice. It can take some work, but it gets easier! (you can also check out /r/makeupaddiction, though it can be a bit intimidating imo)

Try not to focus too much on what you don't like, and think about what you do. Think 'I have really pretty eyes' instead of 'I don't like my teeth.' I think some confidence would help just as much as anything , since confidence is really attractive on anyone. Sorry this ended up being so long :)
