I think it’s more of that, even though people have good intentions in mind they will try to justify their horrible decisions with it.

Amy wants to make money for the family, she wants to be with George, but she is stressed at being the sole money maker and makes some very bad decisions such as sleeping with Paul, and road rage. Danny wanted to give his parents land, wants to be a good son and resorts to stealing and fraud, and because he wants to be the good son he threw away Paul’s college applications so that they can both be at the same level. George feels Amy doesn’t give him the attention he wants, and resorts to looking for Mia. Isaac seemed to be family oriented and helps out whenever he can, but resorts to getting dirty money to help. It just all boils down to blinding themselves and thinking everything is for a good reason.
